THR reports Jerry O'Connell will slip into Herman's mighty boots, formerly filled by the late great Fred Gwynne.
O'Connell will star opposite Eddie Izzard - as Grandpa Munster - and Mason Cook, as Eddie.
Bryan Singer is directing the pilot episode. Mockingbird Lane will adopt a slightly more serious, darker take on the Munster family.

NBC has made two hefty casting announcements today. The first concerned its upcoming Hannibal television series, from Bryan Fuller. Now, comes word regarding Fuller's other show for the network, Mockingbird Lane, the reboot of The Munsters. The project has found its Herman Munster!
