MTV is developing a TV series based on the "Scream" film franchise, reports TV Line.
The site says that former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are looking for a writer to pen the pilot, but says that it is unclear if Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson are involved at all.
The four "Scream" films have earned over $600 million worldwide on small budgets, though Scream 4 to earn $38 million domestically and $58.9 million overseas last year.
What would you like to see in the possible series?

Permalink Reply by Pussing Eye Productions on June 7, 2012 at 10:15am I don't know about MTV doing it, but I can see why. That is such a generation movie it makes sense for MTV to get it.
I think a cool concept would to be take Sid out of the picture for the show. And each week show a different town that has copycat murders of the 'Slash' movie. - copyright Shane Hahn
I know I always say don't change the original concept, but I think for this to work on TV that's one of the best ways to do it. Plus, although 'Scream' is a huge franchise, it's the type of story that can you can play around with like that. I mean, how many secret family members and people of the past can Sid really have.
Damn, I should call my MTV connections and write this myself, haha.
