A Missouri woman with an apparent penchant for cooking meth has been arrested for a second time this month for allegedly whipping up a batch of drugs in public. The woman, identified as 32-year-old Jennifer Vaughn or Jennifer Culp, was previously nabbed in early June for cooking meth in the holding area of a Walmart after being detained for shoplifting.
Vaughn was arrested Monday night at the U-Gas in South County, where employees complained to the police that she was acting suspicious, according to KSDK.com. Police found a so-called "shake and bake" bottle of meth-making materials in her purse when they arrived on the scene, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
“The chemicals are chemically reacting. There’s a danger of explosion, an exposure of vapors," St. Louis County Officer Rich Eckhard told FOX 2 of what he called Vaughn's "active lab." After her arrest at Walmart, the store was cleared for several hours due to the explosion risk.
Vaughn is currently being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond. Franklin and St. Louis Counties require lab testing to determine the contents of the seized bottles, which due to lab backups can be a lengthy process.
