"We'll take her tonite" the captain cried to his greedy sea-dog crew,
many men would be lost for the gold, their names he never knew.
The cannon were ready, loaded and aimed, at the ship across the way,
as they approched the waters turned grim, some begun to pray.
Others laughed with excited eyes, were they brave or only fools?,
truth of it is they did not care, their lives had no rules.
The captain signaled, the cannons roared, the sky chocked with smoke.
The look-out failed as he slept as his post, the bowels of the prized ship broke.
In shock and horror he never did see the black flag so near,
as the waters came up he kept to his post, his shame ran out in a tear...
