She's got date at midnight
With Nosferatu
Oh baby, Lilly Munster
Ain't got nothing on you
Well when I called her evil
She just laughed
well cast that spell on me
Boo Bitch Craft

My favorites lines from Black No. 1

As many of you heard, Peter Steele, the lead vocalist and bassist of
Type O Negative, died last night of heart failure. Peter was a
inspiration of mine as a young kid. In fact, he along with Glenn Danzig,
Tom Waits, Kurt Cobain, Howlin' Wolf and Joey Ramone belong on my top
vocalists list for a very long time. Aloud me to tell you how I ended up
becoming a fan of Steele and Type O Negative.

It was in the spring of 1998, my dad has just got me into the classic
1922 horror film Nosferatu on VHS with a soundtrack done by a band known
as Type O Negative. Not only did I fall in love with the film
Nosferatu, but I fell in love with this great band. A couple months
later, at a used record shop, I got for 10 dollars altogether, their
albums Bloody Kisses and October Rust. Various songs from both albums
were included in the soundtrack to the Nosferatu reissue, so you just
knew I was gonna get hooked. What even impressed more was the kick ass
cover of Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl.

Peter's voice was beyond amazing to me. I remember when I first starting
doing music when I was 13, I would try to imitate his voice (sometimes i
would switch from imitating Peter Steele's voice to Glenn Danzig's
voice which eventually ended up being a Elvis Presley impersonation). I
remember when my mom was alive, she would joke "jeez if you're not
listening to the Misfits or Black Sabbath, you're listening to Type of
Negative. You better not be sacrificing goats in your fucking room!".
You can tell how much of a big fan she was lol I eventually got into
Peter's early band Carnivore as well, which played a big part in my
summer soundtrack of 2001 that year, made me remember that I was getting
ready for the dreadful year of 8th grade.

Type O Negative's music never might of played into my style of my own
music, but you can obviously tell the same sick sense of humor played a
role in it. I did however do a Type O Negative inspired cover of
Danzig's Mother that was submitted for the Icons of the Underground
tribute album, however they chose Deep over Mother. Unfortunately
Hedonism Records has that song in their hands, so who knows what may
happen to it. I even wanted to do a Type O Negative style cover of
Blitzkid's Love Like Blood for my third solo album "Hate Me For Being
Born" but the guys at the time I was working with had no idea who
Blitzkid was and thought Type O Negative was too much for "Goth
wussies". You can probably guess what happened to the guys later on
after a few other mishaps :)

Peter will truly be missed. You inspired many of us great listeners and
artists. I thank you for the wonderful music you left on earth for us.
